Video production for machinery, vehicles & technical products

To explain technology on film, you first have to understand it.

on:LAND produces video for machinery, vehicles and technical products. Before the shoot we get to grips with the product, its application and the audience, and define what the content has to achieve. From there we build the right production – from product video and testimonial to social content, trade show video or presented format.

Excerpts from on:LAND video productions for machinery and technical products

Our approach

Product understanding shapes the concept.

With machinery and technical products, the format is not the starting point – the task is. Is a product being launched, a technical difference explained, a user convinced, or content produced for several channels?

Before production we clarify which messages matter, who needs to understand them and where the content will be used later. Concept, visual language and production scope follow from that.

01

Understand product & application

We get to grips with the machine, its use and the product advantages that matter before developing the concept.

02

Define the goal and the audience

We agree which message needs to land with which audience – and which information is genuinely required for that.

03

Build the production around it

Only then do we decide on format, shooting scope, presenting, interviews, application footage and the versions needed.

Turning technical products into effective communication.

Different tasks call for different production concepts. Two examples from our work.

ZEPPELIN · Product launch

Launching a new telehandler series across several video formats.

For three new telehandlers we produced ten videos for social media, YouTube, trade shows and the website – from presented model walkthroughs to the 16:9 product video.

GRIMME · Testimonials & real-world use

Explaining product benefits through genuine user experience.

For the MATRIX 1200 we produced three customer testimonials, a site portrait and social-first content – communicating product benefit, hands-on experience and the presence of the GRIMME site in Langquaid together.

Video for different jobs.

The starting point is not the film format, but the job the content has to do.

  1. 01

    Explain the product

Show functions, differences and product benefits so the audience understands what sets a machine or technical solution apart.

  2. 02

    Support a product launch

Plan content for website, YouTube, social media, sales and trade shows together from the start.

  3. 03

    Let users speak

Testimonials and real applications show how products hold up under actual working conditions.

  4. 04

Show the brand and the company

A corporate film makes technical competence, the way of working and the people behind the company visible.

  5. 05

    Produce content for several channels

Vertical clips, long-form, trade show videos and presented product walkthroughs are planned together – including on site at the show.

Across formats

A shooting day should not be planned for a single format.

When the machine, the people and the crew are on site anyway, we plan ahead as far as possible which content is actually needed. A single shoot can then deliver a detailed product video, vertical clips, short product sequences, interview excerpts or material for trade shows and the website.

This is not about recutting the same content in different ways. The formats are built into the concept and the shoot from the outset.

When explaining on camera makes sense.

For product presentations, trade show videos, interviews or social-first formats, a host can structure technical content and put product advantages into clear context.

The person in front of the camera can come from your company – or on:LAND takes on the presenting.

More about presenting
Presenting a tyre topic on camera in a product exhibition

Specialised in machinery, vehicles and complex technical products.

on:LAND works with companies whose products are not explained by strong visuals alone.

We get to grips with application and product benefit, and build content from there for marketing, sales, social media and trade shows.

Frequently asked questions about video production.

  • 01What does a video production cost?

The effort depends on the concept, shooting days, team size, locations and the formats required. on:LAND therefore quotes productions based on the specific task rather than on fixed film packages.

  • 02Do we need a finished concept already?

No. on:LAND can handle the entire concept – from understanding product and audience through story and shoot planning to the production itself.

  • 03Can one shoot produce several videos?

Yes. We often plan productions from the outset so the material covers different formats and channels – for example a longer product video, social media clips and vertical versions.

  • 04Does someone from our company have to appear on camera?

No. Depending on the communication task, a video can work entirely through product, application and imagery. Where presenting or interviews make sense, someone from your company can appear or on:LAND takes on the presenting.

  • 05What do we need to prepare if we want to have a product video produced?

You do not need a finished concept yet. What helps is a clear picture of the product, the target audience and where the video will be used later. on:LAND gets to grips with the product, application and technical differences together with you, and develops the concept, shoot planning and required formats from there.

  • 06Does on:LAND also handle publishing?

On request, yes. Alongside production, on:LAND can prepare content for social media and take on planning, publishing, ongoing management or paid social.

  • 07How is the production team put together?

That depends on the task. on:LAND delivers many productions with a compact team. Where additional camera, lighting, sound or production capacity is needed, we assemble the team specifically for that production.

  • 08Can existing video material be reused?

Yes, provided the quality and usage rights work. We review the existing material and decide what can sensibly go into new edits or formats.

Next step

What should your next video achieve?

Whether it is a product launch, a testimonial, a trade show or ongoing content: tell us briefly about the product, the audience and where the video will be used. We will tell you which production and which formats make sense for it.
